Conceptual rigour took a back seat on this one. Passing fast trains are represented by distorted orchestral swells that threaten to overwhelm the track. Percussion evokes the steady clack of the train tracks whilst the bassline is provided by a foghorn (why not?). Two piano parts interlock but have different speeds of harmonic motion, obscuring the changing chords. A melody, built from piano and guitar combined, is of irregular length, causing a varying relationship to the rest of the music.
